Citrix WANScaler: available the long awaited version 4.3
Without giving emphasis to the news, Citrix has released version 4.3.23 of the firmware of the WANScaler. This release introduces the long awaited unfortunately no optimization for MAPI. But the news out there, especially for the client. Citrix WANScaler makes it possible to extend the optimization of traffic even in small offices where a small number of PCs does not justify the purchase of a dedicated appliance by using a software component to install (and dismiss) on the client. Until the previous version of firmware to support the client software was necessary, however, the purchase of an appliance with the features of "Controller". The firmware version 4.3.23 and its clients, in addition to full support for Windows Vista, eliminating the need for the Controller.
In addition, this new version introduces the following changes:
- Support SCPS (Space Communications Protocol Standards), to increase compatibility with some satellite networks
- Native support for Citrix Command Center
- Functions of monitoring / reporting improved, capable of displaying information to a month
- Improvements on accelerating CIFS
- Improvements on the support WCCP
- Service Class "Unsupported TCP" disabled by default, to eliminate possible incompatibilities with applications / services is not known
