Citrix released XenApp for Windows Server 2008 Project Delaware Release Preview
After two months of the official release of Windows 2008, Citrix released a preview of Project Delaware, the new version of XenApp (Presentation Server) for Windows 2008. With Windows Server 2008, Microsoft has heavily modified the operation of Terminal Services and Citrix has been working hard to rewrite many parts of XenApp as well as to add and develop new features. Now it is finally available a preview of the product which already bears many interesting innovations, including:
- Differential updates for streaming applications: an update of a bubble takes longer to download the whole package, but only the differences
- Isolation 3.0: not only greater compatibility, but above all bubbles able to communicate with each other
- Streaming over HTTP
- New Web Interface and the new XenApp Client
- Prioritization of applications and users, to ensure best SLA
The product can be downloaded directly from Citrix after logging in with an account MyCitrix.
