Cloning Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server)

Cloning Citrix XenApp (aka Presentation Server) is not something cosìscontata. For example, Enterprise and Platinum versions require special attention to clean up local files to the Resource Manager. Citrix has released a small tool that can be used to simplify the cloning machine. In fact, this little program is designed for use with Citrix Provisioning Server and it is called "Citrix Provisioning Server PS Integration Utility."

To use this tool you can follow these simple steps suggested by Joe Shonk:

  1. Download and install the tool on the image XenApp
  2. Perform the integration tool icon that appears on your desktop
  3. Run Sysprep to change the SID and prepare the system
  4. Distribute the image on the new hardware (physical or virtual)
  5. Complete the wizard of Sysprep
  6. Add the server to the domain (if you have not done during the Sysprep)
  7. PS Remove the PVS tool integration
  8. Set the following services on starting Citrix autoomatico (the tool sets them in the manual):
               Citrix Independent Management Architecture
               Citrix SMA Service
               Citrix XML Service

As usual, watch out for problems that may arise with Sysprep and remapped drives.
