Virtualizing servers in DMZ
For many Italian companies, digest the concept of virtualization has not been easy. Many have deployed virtual servers only for testing and development have been slow to bring this technology into production. The new challenge is now to talk about virtual machines and security. Although some manufacturers, primarily VMware, claim that their hypervisor is secure and inviolable, and there is no guarantee, however, adding layers of technology increases the complexity inherent in the vulnerability.
VMware has published a brief nine-page white paper in which he analyzes three possible implementation scenarios trying to highlight the benefits and disadvantages. Needless to say that virtualize multiple network segments on a single (pool) host ensures consolidation of higher and higher ROI, but it provides a solution with the lowest levels of security.
