RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.3 extends Xen
Despite the acquisition of KVM, Red Hat continues to support Xen as the virtualization platform. Latest release of its server platform, Red Hat has even expanded some features of Xen:
- 8 to 32 vCPUs
- 64GB to 80GB VRAM
- 32 to 126 PCPU
- 64GB to 1TB PRAM
In addition, the version of Xen integrated into Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 supports "nested paging tables technology EPT" present in the new Intel Core i7 (codename Nehalem).
