Massimiliano Daneri passed to the headlines thanks to two free products for VMware ESX: VMKB, a perl script to manage the backup of virtual machines and VMTSPatchManager, precursor of the update manager. Taken up in VMware in late 2007, however we are no longer heard of him.

Maximilian finally reappeared: VMworld Cannes has presented a new product, the PXE Manager for vCenter. It is a service for Windows systems accompanied by a plugin for vCenter that can automate the provisioning of ESX / ESXi, to backup / restore the state of the host, select the version of ESX / ESXi to be distributed and the type installation (diskless, unattended or manual).

The PXE Manager for vCenter is not an official VMware tools (for now), so the parent does not provide any support.

Despite the presentation, the product currently is not available for downlaod.
