Citrix Essentials for Hyper-V Express Edition the free version
The strategy in the world of Citrix virtualization is becoming increasingly complex. Citrix has announced the availability of the Express Edition of Citrix Essentials for Hyper-V.
A few days before the official release of Hyper-V 2, Citrix is preparing to conquer the SME market by offering a new version of Citrix Essentials for Hyper-V at 0 cost. This is a limited version that provides "only" of the advanced storage management, the StorageLink, and is limited to only 2 hosts and a single storage array. This configuration is however more than enough for a very big slice of reality in the world of SMEs.
The most surprising thing is that with this move, XenServer will be increasingly difficult position, because at this time using Hyper-V and Citrix Essentials 2 Express Edition, you can have more functions than choosing the solution of free XenServer.
