Microsoft Hyper-V and memory overcommitment
Putting aside the many comments on the usefulness or not of memory overcommitment in the field of virtual machines, it is indisputable that this feature is interesting, possibly with the possibility of not being used.
The memory overcommitment was to be a feature of Microsoft Hyper-V R2, which actually was not released in the RTM version of the product, perhaps because of stability problems.
In an article published on Softpedia appeared some new information about this feature. It seems that Windows Server 2008 R2 Build 6.1.7700.0.100122-1900 introduce again overcommitmet memory and so this new feature will be a reality in the not too lontato (it is assumed even in a future Service Pack).
